I was originally meant to be launching this substack a little bit earlier in the month, but nothing like a lil crushing self-doubt to put a wrench in the plans! I hadn’t planned to start my first official Scoop newsletter with a gift guide, but maybe this is a good thing seeing as I can never get enough of them.
What I loved this week
Flashback to my old ‘what I loved this week’ blog posts from yesteryear! This is a fun section of some of the things I’ve been loving this week.
Brown Butter Ricotta Rigatoni I’ve already made this dish three times and I plan on making it many more! Deceivingly simple, this is a great weeknight pasta dish. The second time I made it I couldn’t be bothered to get out my food processor to whip the ricotta with the brown butter so just mixed it by hand and it still worked great.
Siete Jalapeno Botana Sauce I picked this up when I was in the US at the end of September and I am going to be sad when I finish it. It’s perfect on eggs, tacos, rice, burrito bowls, truly anything.
Weekday Vegetarians is one of my all-time favorite cookbooks. I don’t cook a ton of meat but felt like there weren’t a lot of cookbooks that focused on vegetarian recipes that were also comforting. This week I’ve made the chili, serving it on rice one night and with baked potatoes the next night.
