I am so glad you’re here! The Scoop is my lil corner of the internet where I can share more about, well.. anything I want! I’ll mainly focus on food, recipes, and things I’ve been loving.
Why I’ve started The Scoop
I started Alpine Ella back in 2020 because I wanted to not only create good food but share it with people. While I love the community I’ve built on apps like Instagram and my website, I can’t unfortunately write about or create recipes for whatever I want! If you’re unfamiliar with algorithms and SEO, I have to create recipes and content that appease the Google Gods and make videos for social media platforms. Most of that is fun and I’m so lucky and grateful that I get to call it my job. But other days, I wish I could share more personal stories, recipes and content that I really love. The hamster wheel of all the social media algorithms, creating videos, and sifting through some not-very-nice comments on TikTok (about cinnamon rolls! Cinnamon rolls of all things!) leaves me wanting to create a space that is more authentically me. Enter, The Scoop!
A taste of what’s to come
The Scoop is the kind of newsletter that I would want to get in my inbox! Filled with new ideas on what to cook or bake, suggestions of podcasts or books or ingredients to try, and exclusive recipes that are just for this newsletter. I’ll also be featuring a rotation of content like cookbook reviews, how-to guides for baking, and food travel guides!
While this first issue is going to be free for everyone, moving forward my newsletters will be for paid subscribers (for the most part!). I’ll be keeping it sponsor-free and with zero affiliate links. If you’re paying for this newsletter, I want you to know that you’re getting my actual recommendations of things I’ve loved, liked, or desperate to try.
Just to give you an idea of the general bones of this newsletter, every other week you’ll get a snapshot of what I’ve been loving. This will be followed by the rotating content and a big ol’ list of links. Once or twice a month you’ll get an exclusive recipe that isn’t on my site or my social channels.
